Ørsted reaches key milestone in planning process for Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm
An Isle of Man Government public consultation about Ørsted’s plans to develop the Isle of Man’s first offshore wind farm began in August and closed on November 18. The consultation provided residents and stakeholders across the Island with another opportunity to share their views and feedback on the proposed development.
The consultation followed the decision by the Isle of Man’s Council of Ministers to accept Ørsted’s planning application for examination under the Marine Infrastructure Management Act 2016 (MIMA) in August 2025.
In line with MIMA requirements, the planning application process will now move forward to the examination phase, with the timetable for this stage to be set by the Examining Body.
