He takes over the role from John Galloway, Ørsted Development Director for the Isle of Man. This news follows the announcement that Ørsted have formally submitted the Mooir Vannin planning application for examination.
Jamie commented: “I’m delighted to be joining the Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm team at such a significant and exciting time. Many thanks to John Galloway for the massive contribution he has made to the development of the project so far. Among many achievements, John has assembled a very experienced team who will continue to work towards the goal of delivering the first offshore wind farm in the Isle of Man’s Territorial Seas.”
John Galloway said: “It’s been an honour to lead the brilliant Mooir Vannin team here on the Island and in the UK, and to work on a project which has the potential to bring so many benefits to the Island. I wish Jamie and the whole team every success with the future development of the project.”
With 20 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector, Jamie has successfully led the development of many large-scale renewable energy projects in the UK, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, anaerobic digestion, onshore grid and energy storage.
The Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm – which would be in an area of seabed 6 to 12 nautical miles off the Isle of Man’s east coast – has the potential to contribute to the Island’s net-zero, economic and energy security ambitions. The planning application, submitted under the Isle of Man’s Marine Infrastructure Management Act (MIMA), includes options to supply electricity to the UK and Isle of Man.
